1. Choose a category (Power, Water, Waste, etc.)
2. Pick a specific building type
3. Set the number of buildings you want to place
4. Adjust the budget slider (50–150%) to simulate funding cuts or boosts
5. Enter your approximate city population
6. Click + Add to Build — repeat for each utility type
7. View combined totals, coverage and pollution in the results panel
The Output/₡ ratio is your key efficiency metric — higher is better.
All figures are based on Cities: Skylines base game + After Dark values. DLC buildings (Sunset Harbour, Industries, etc.) may differ slightly. Budget adjustments are linear approximations.
| Metric | Unit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Build Cost | ₡ (Cimoleons) | One-time placement |
| Upkeep | ₡/week | Shown as monthly (×4) |
| Output | MW / m³ / units | At 100% budget |
| Pollution | 0–100% | Relative severity scale |
| Coverage | % of pop | Based on per-building capacity |
0–30% (Low) — Safe to place near residential zones
31–60% (Medium) — Use a buffer zone of 2–4 blocks
61%+ (High) — Industrial zones only, or use noise/pollution policies
• Wind Turbines & Solar have zero pollution but need large footprints
• Nuclear power has a high build cost but excellent long-term value
• Water towers are cheap early-game but don't scale well
• Combine small & large sewage plants for balanced coverage
• Running budget above 100% increases output and below 100% reduces upkeep but degrades service
Builds are saved to your browser's localStorage — they persist between sessions automatically, but are tied to this browser and device. They will be lost if you clear your browser's site data or use a different browser/device.
To take your builds elsewhere, use the Export buttons in the Saved Builds tab:
⬇ Export as .txt — human-readable summary, easy to read or share
⬇ Export as .csv — spreadsheet-compatible, open in Excel or Google Sheets
⬆ Import Builds — load a previously exported .txt or .csv file to restore saves on any device
